Liam Payne’s eerie final words to girlfriend Kate Cassidy have been revealed months on from his death.

Payne died aged 31 on October 16 after he fell from his hotel balcony in Buenos Aires.

The star was laid to rest on November 20 at a ceremony attended by the mother of his child, Bear, Girls Aloud star Cheryl.

His fellow One Direction bandmates – Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Zayn Malik – were also in attendance.

Cassidy, 26, has spoken several times about her late boyfriend’s death and revealed in a recent interview his last ever words to her as she left Argentina for a flight back to Florida.

She revealed on the On Purpose podcast hosted by Jay Shetty that he told her: ‘You’re acting like this is the last time you are ever gonna see me again.’

Kate admitted it was ‘chilling’ to look back on this comment given what would happen just days later.

She detailed in the interview: ‘I remember sitting there with him and I was going on and on and on about how much I love him and he laughed and interrupted me and was like, “Kate, you’re gonna miss your flight,t your car is in the driveway. You’re acting like this is the last time you’re ever gonna see me again.”

‘I just laughed back I was like, “I know I’m being silly, I need to get in the car, I can’t miss my flight.”

‘To look back in time and know that that was the last time I was ever gonna see him again is just so chilling. But in a way, I think that the way that we said goodbye to each other, I’m so blessed, and that’s where I get the peace from it, that it was that heartfelt.

‘Our last goodbye, I wouldn’t have wanted it to be any differently.’

She added: ‘I’m so glad that we had that last beautiful moment together.’

Kate has shared updates on how she’s been in the wake of her devastating loss, also giving her first TV interview on Lorraine Kelly on ITV.

‘I find myself talking about him so much in the present tense, and it’s something where I don’t even feel the need to correct myself because that’s part of my healing journey,’ she said.

‘I’m still working on accepting the fact that he’s not here anymore, so it’s hard for me to refer to him in the past tense.

‘When I do refer to him in the past tense, it almost stings that little bit more, because it’s more official. I never thought that I’d be talking about him in the past tense so it’s definitely really hard to accept,’ she said as her voice began to choke and she held back tears.

The update from Cassidy comes as Payne’s sister detailed the devastating grief that leaves her ‘gasping for air’ since her brother’s death.

Ruth Gibbins has shared a devastating essay about losing her little brother Liam Payne six months ago.

‘My head is still screaming for you. Each morning on waking, I feel like I am plunged underwater, gasping or air that never comes to relieve me.

‘Living without you is impossible, so for now, I exist. I’m learning to laugh or smile in the right places, but mate, it’s exhausting when all I want to do is speak to you,’ she said in the heartbreaking post.

An investigation was launched at the time of his death with several arrests made and charges brought against a group of individuals.

In February, a manslaughter charge against Payne’s friend Roger Nores, was dropped, as were charges faced by hotel employees of supplying drugs.

Two other men are still facing prosecution on charges that they supplied Payne with drugs.

Nores, who was with Payne in Argentina, decided to take his late friend’s dad to court.

He claimed that Geoff’s ‘false and defamatory’ statements about him to a prosecutor led to his arrest and manslaughter charges being placed upon him.

Despite being cleared of all wrongdoing on February 19, he initially refused to drop the lawsuit until he received an apology from Geoff.

He has since dropped the £8,000,000 lawsuit and said that Geoff ‘does not need to apologise’, according to reports by Rolling Stone.
