Peter Andre has been slammed for posing as a Jamaican man in a movie critics have already called ‘nonsense’.
This week the trailer for the movie Jafaican dropped, leaving many in stitches after watching what was to come.
It’s been teased: ‘Desperate to secure £35,000 for his gran’s care, small-time crook Gazza jumps on a risky tip-off and hatches a daring scam.
‘With just 21 days to pull it off, he must immerse himself in Jamaican culture to con his way between London and Jamaica.’
The two-minute trailer begins with Gary Buckle (Gazza) in London explaining that he is a ‘wheeler-dealer and troublemaker’.
However, he then finds himself in a pickle when being told he needs to cough up £35,000 to pay for her care home fees.

After he attempts to use a poker game to get-rich-quick and fails, he must look for other options, eventually agreeing to pose as a gangster for £3 million.
Travelling to Jamaica, he’s then tasked with ‘posing as the gangster, steal his dough and hope to live’.
Gazza then declares ‘all I’ve got to do is learn the Jamaican accent’, with viewers then witnessing his over-the-top attempts – complete with a fake wig of dreadlocks.
Although it was initially met with a wave of support, others have now weighed in.
‘Peter Andre starring as the lead character of a film called JAFAICAN where he’s pretending to be a Jamaican and wearing a dreadlock wig is not something I was expecting to see in the year of our Lord 2025 but here we are…’ Ronke posted on X.
‘This cannot be real,’ Harriet questioned.

‘What decade are we living in????’ Ben shared.
‘Wish I could blame AI for this,’ Cass added.
Others called it ‘outrageous’, ‘nonsense’ and said they were ‘lost for words’.
Although Peter initially shared the trailer on X, he’s since deleted it since being met with backlash.
Some of the comments left on his still-live Instagram post include: ‘This film is racist.’
However when the trailer first dropped, many said they couldn’t wait to watch. ‘LMFAO, this is the most original thing I’ve seen in a while,’ @user-lw5mz2kt6x commented on YouTube.
‘This looks hilarious can’t wait to see this!’ kristrinity9429 shared.
‘Joke is I’d fully watch this, so would you,’ jaylonspence9303 added.

Others said they were ‘buzzing’.
The movie, directed by Fredi Nwaka, also stars Wil Johnson, Oliver Samuels, Jamie Lomas and Sizzla.
Peter, 52, rose to fame in the mid-1990s as a singer, topping the UK Singles Chart with Flava and I Feel You in 1996.
His single Mysterious Girl also peaked at number 2 that same year but later reached number 1 on re-release in 2004 following his appearance in I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!, where he met Katie Price.
In the years since he’s starred in the Katie & Peter franchise, competed on Strictly Come Dancing and then got his own show on GBNews.
He also previously landed film roles in David Brent: Life on the Road, Keith Lemon: The Film, Last Respects, Members Club and On The Other Foot, in which he starred with son Junior Andre.

In 2023 he also revealed an ‘epic’ film about his life is in the works.
‘Very, very exciting news (for me anyway),’ he wrote on social media.
‘Incredible meeting about doing a film on my life. This is gonna be EPIC,’ he teased, before adding: ‘Watch this space…’
He followed up his news with a series of movie-themed emoji, including a clapperboard, camera and a bucket of popcorn.
Jafaican premieres at the Gold Coast Film Festival next month.
