An American rapper already serving 55 years behind bars has now been given an additional 80-year sentence for committing another murder.
Taymor Travon McIntyre, better known by his stage name Tay-K, is best known for his 2017 song The Race.
The track peaked at number 44 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and received platinum certification.
However, the lyrics in the song detailed his criminal activity and became popular after a nationwide manhunt which led to his arrest and eventual conviction for murder.
In 2019, after going on the run for three months, he was found guilty of murder for his involvement in a 2016 home invasion that left 21-year-old Ethan Walker dead.
At the time McIntyre, now 24, was sentenced to 55 years in prison.

Now, this week, he’s been given another jail sentence, this time for 80 years, after he was found guilty of shooting 23-year-old Mark Anthony Saldivar while on the run in 2017.
Prosecutors previously said McIntyre, who was 17 at the time, shot Saldivar after robbing him.
They explained that the rapper, as part of a group, had picked up the photographer in a car after asking him to take photos of him for a new song before the deadly shooting.
On Tuesday, a jury in Bexar County, San Antonio, Texas handed down the sentence, which came after he narrowly avoided being convicted by a grand jury of capital murder, as reported by News4SA.

After spending parts of his childhood in California and Nevada, McIntyre’s family eventually settled in Texas when he was 10.
The rapper eventually dropped out of high school and joined the rap group Daytona Boyz in 2014.
However, two years later he was named a bystander in a murder that resulted in the conviction of one of his bandmates.
Soon after he was named a defendant in the trial for Walker’s murder. While on house arrest in 2017, McIntyre cut off his ankle monitor and went on the run.

He was eventually caught on the day The Race was released, with the music video for the song showing him posing in front of his wanted poster put out by police.
To date, it’s been viewed over 250,000,000 times.
While he was in custody, McIntyre’s management team released his debut album Santana World, which charted in the Billboard 200.
However, in 2019 he was given the 55-year sentence, and this week was told he was also facing the 80-year sentence too.
