Kylie Jenner’s ‘rude’ behaviour while meeting Sir Elton John slammed by Oscars fans

Kylie Jenner has been slammed for ‘rude’ behaviour when meeting Elton John alongside boyfriend Timothee Chalamet’s side at the Oscars 2025.

The reality TV star, 27, supported Timothee, 29, who was nominated for best actor thanks to his role as Bob Dylan in the A Complete Unknown biopic.

Although Chalamet walked the red carpet solo in a baby yellow suit, the 29-year-old was joined by his partner inside the venue moments before the Academy Awards kicked off at the Dolby Theater in LA.

During the ceremony, she could be seen being introduced to music legend Sir Elton, 77, by Oscar-nominee, who tapped her shoulder to grab her attention after hugging the music legend

Jenner stayed seated while shaking the hand of the Tiny Dancer hitmaker, a move that has seen her slammed by viewers.

‘Oh no no no you get up for Sir Elton John!!!’ Ashleyimholte wrote on footage shared on Instagram by People.

Mscakes2013 added: ‘That is Sir Elton John, you stand when being greeted to him.’

‘Not just because it’s Elton John. But out of respect and manners, you stand up when you greet someone,’ Lizzyyy_e responded.

Diakomom posed a question to Jenner’s mom Kris Jenner, writing: ‘Wow mama Kris -did you not teach your daughter any manners?’

Many dubbed the star ‘disrespectful’ and ‘lacking manners’ for not standing during the interaction, though some pointed out it might have been due to her fashion choice on the evening.

‘Yall think it’s so easy for ladies in dresses like that to get up and down,’ Ohwvmifl wrote.

The Kylie Cosmetics founder has had a tough few weeks following the tragic death of her beloved long-time pal, and hairstylist, Jesus Guerrero.

The 27-year-old decided not to attend last week’s Screen Actors Guild celebrations in the wake of her heartbreaking loss but could be seen cuddling up to her partner before tonight’s ceremony began.

Jenner’s make-up artist, Ariel, shared a loving message to Guerrero ahead of her appearance, sharing that their late pal’s energy was ‘guiding’ them through such a huge occasion.

‘Today was really hard without you, but I know how excited you were for Ky to attend the Oscars,’ he wrote beside a picture of the mom-of-two in her outfit.

‘I felt your energy guiding us today. I hope we did you proud. We love you forever.’

Guerrero died ‘suddenly and unexpectedly’ last month at the age of 34, with his cause of death not currently known.

He worked as Jenner’s hairstylist for many years, with the reality star among those sharing a moving tribute on social media after her loss.

Taking to Instagram, she wrote: ‘Jesus was more than my friend – he was a light in my life, a source of laughter, comfort, love, and unwavering support.

‘I don’t know how I would have made it through the last almost decade without him by my side. He had a way of making even the heaviest days feel lighter.

‘Thank you, Jesus, for always being there for me, for lifting me up, for being my friend.

‘The pain of losing you is just unbearable and I don’t know how to move forward without you but I know great grief is born only of great love.

‘And I loved you so much. You were the best person, with a talent that was unmatched. a true artist. You inspired so many, and you always will.’

‘Your words, your laughter, your kindness, your beautiful spirit will live in my heart forever,’ she added.

‘I’ll cherish all our moments together. every laugh and hug. I wish I could hug you again. I laid in your bed the way you used to lay in mine, talking for hours.

‘I would give anything for one more deep talk. I’m going to miss you so much. more than any words can say. 222 my angel.’

His family confirmed that she has covered the cost of his funeral, with funds raised from a GoFundMe page being used to pay for any other costs associated with settling his affairs, and bringing his belongings home.

As well as Jenner, Guerrero also worked closely with Jennifer Lopez, with other clients including Kendall Jenner, Kim Kardashian, Katy Perry and Demi Moore.
