Bruce Willis looked like he had a blast celebrating his 70th birthday on Wednesday, with the Die Hard actor seen dancing with his ex-wife Demi Moore.
His daughter Tallulah took to social media to wish her ‘favourite friend’ a happy 70th, more than two years after he was diagnosed with dementia.
‘You are a light that can never be dimmed! I love you so proud to be your baby,’ she said.
Her post was also followed by her mother Demi’s, with the Substance actress sending love to her former husband who she is still close with.
‘Happy birthday, BW! We love you,’ she wrote.
In an Instagram Q&A yesterday, Bruce’s daughter Rumer gave an update on her dad.
‘He’s doing great, thank you for asking,’ Rumer responded in a video. ‘It is actually his 70th birthday tomorrow so please wish my papa a big happy birthday,’ she added.

In February 2023, the Willis family announced Bruce had finally been given a ‘clear diagnosis’ of frontotemporal dementia (FTD), a progressive disease that impacts his speech and behaviour.
The year previously, the family said Bruce – famed for his roles in The Sixth Sense and Pulp Fiction – was retiring from acting after an aphasia diagnosis.
Aphasia is a condition that impairs language, and the family later discovered this was a feature of frontotemporal dementia, which ‘chips away’ at his cognitive function each day.
While in its early stages Alzeimer’s dementia shows up as memory loss, Bruce’s family noticed a change in his speech.
In a 2024 interview with Town & Country his wife Emma Heming Willis explained how they first noticed something was wrong.

‘As his language started changing, it [seemed like it] was just a part of a stutter, it was just Bruce,’ she said, referencing Bruce’s childhood stutter.
‘Never in a million years would I think it would be a form of dementia for someone so young,’ she said.
‘I say that FTD whispers, it doesn’t shout. It’s hard for me to say, ‘This is where Bruce ended, and this is where his disease started to take over,’” she added.
What is Bruce Willis’ life like now?
Bruce has a huge support network with his blended family sticking together through tough times, and his doting wife Emma, 46, giving occasional updates on the Hollywood legend’s health.

From his 13-year marriage to Demi Moore, Bruce also has three grown up daughters, Rumer, 36, Scout, 33, and Tallulah, 30.

While The Substance actress and Bruce divorced in 2000, they have remained close over the years, with Demi recently saying there is ‘life after divorce’ even through his diagnosis.
‘We will always be a family, just in a different form,’ the Ghost actress said. ‘For me, there was never a question. I show up because that’s what you do for the people you love.’
The actress shared that she visits Bruce weekly, and wants to support his current wife Emma and their young daughters.
‘I hope it’s encouraging for others to see that there’s a different way to do things,’ she told Variety. ‘There is life after divorce. There is a way to co-parent with love.’
Bruce lives in LA with his wife Emma and their two young daughters, and he’s been spotted on outings in his local neighbourhood over recent months.
Emma told the magazine in her 2024 interview that the girls have ‘grown up with Bruce declining over the years’ so she is ‘not trying to shield them from it’.

She added that Bruce’s three older daughters – who sometimes share glimpses into their dad’s life on social media during special anniversaries – are all hugely supportive of how she’s caring for him.
While Emma cares for Bruce, she is also fortunate enough to be able to afford a ‘team’ to help her do this so she can be a mother and work too.
What is Bruce Willis’ health like now?
Appearing on CNN on December 5, Demi shared an update on her ex-husband’s health.
‘He’s in a very stable place at the moment,’ she said. ‘I’ve shared this before, but I really mean this so sincerely – it’s so important for anybody who’s dealing with this to really meet them where they’re at.’

During a September 2023 appearance on Today, Emma said it was ‘hard to know’ if Bruce was aware of what’s going on with his health.
This time last year, Emma hit back at claims her husband had ‘no more joy’ left after his diagnosis.
She said: ‘There is grief and sadness, there’s all of that. But you start a new chapter, and that chapter is filled with love, it’s filled with connection, it’s filled with joy and happiness. That’s where we are.’
