Katherine Ryan forced to edit gig following investigation into ‘unnamed’ comedian
The comedian, 41, is currently on her Battleaxe tour which began last September and is taking place across the UK, ending in June.
The comedian is known for her brutally honest commentary about social issues and her personal life, but according to fans, there has been a major shift in her material.
According to one fan on social media, Katherine told fans that she’s been forced to axe some of her material because of a comedian who is under investigation.
‘When you go to a Katherine Ryan gig, but she tells you she’s been told by her lawyer that she has to cut out a load of material.’
‘Because it’s about another ‘unnamed’ comedian predator who’s currently under investigation, and what she has to say could influence the outcome,’ Facecontorter said on TikTok.
Other commenters on the TikTok said that when they saw her show just a few weeks before, a lot of her commentary was left in and they felt they for a huge ‘scoop.’
Jammybuns commented: ‘She didn’t cut it out of our show, the other week. We got a very big scoop and I 100% believe her.’
‘We saw the show before he was charged and heard all the material. She kept the receipts 💅,’ said girlsget_it_done.
In a 2022 interview with Louis Theroux, Katherine claimed that the identity of a sexual assault predator is an open industry secret.
‘It’s very dangerous for us to have this conversation,’ she told the famous journalist.
‘I’m happy to have it, but it’s a litigious minefield because lots of people have tried to nail this person down for their alleged crimes and this person has very good lawyers, so am I going to put my mortgage on the line by saying who this person is or entering into any conversations like that?
‘We’ve seen what happens to the people who talk about alleged predators.’
Katherine continued by stressing that she hadn’t fallen victim to the comedian, but had told the comic to his face that he was a predator.
‘It’s not really my story to tell,’ she said. ‘No one has perpetrated any sexual assault against me, but this person, I believe very strongly – many people believe very strongly – is an open secret, is a perpetrator of sexual assault.
‘I, in front of loads of people, in the format of the show said to this person’s face that they are a predator.’
She has been praised for speaking out about the ‘dangerous’ comic working in the industry.
